Description: .: Gand ( Gent ) , Poelman, 1836, 6 vols in-8°, 24 cm, sewn, orig. printed wrapper. ( uncut copies, as published). Some wrappers slightly damaged, frontwrapper of vol. I completely detached, bookblock of 3 volumes split, some slight usual staining. On the whole in good condtion. The six volumes are kept in three uniform cloth covered boxes, with red leather title labels on the spines. Rare complete set , in the original condition, as issued, of the catalogue of the the most important book collection to come on the market in the ancient Low Countries in the 19th c. comprising 31.686 books and 1016 manuscripts. The collection was never auctioned as it was bought by the newly founded Belgian Royal Library. Volume I has a 70 pp note on Charles van Hulthem by Voisin. Vol. VI, with a portrait of van Hulthem as frontispiece describes the manuscripts and has an introduction on the libraries and auctions where van Hulthem bought his books. (bibliog.
