Description: .: (Tyrnau, Hungary), Typis Academicis Societatis Jesu, 1754, 2 vols in-8°, title in red & bl. with woodengraved vignet + (12) + 445 pp + (11)(index) ; title + 444 pp + (8)(index), contemporary full leather (rather severely worn, joints of volume I weak), with the manuscript ex-libris of Joannes Henricus Bormans, Trudonopolitanus, 1822. (Lacks a third volume, but each vol. complete and indexed as such). Schoolbook published by the Jesuit order at their printing press in Turgau (Presburg, Hungary). The Jesuits established a printing press in Vienna in 1551 which was closed 4 years later. In 1577 the equipment was transferred to Turgau where it was intermittently used by the Jesuits until 1775 when it was finally acquired by the university of Turgau. Very rare.
