(Reliure un peu usée, qq. pages avec légères rousseurs). Rare copy of a fine Tournai imprint. All pages printed within a typographical double fillet border. The portrait probably especially made for this publication as it is also dated 1740. First edition. The author, a native of Tournai, became headmaster of the Jesuit Colleges at Namur, Valenciennes and Tournai. According to De Backer-Sommervogel (see Vol. VIII, col. 366-367) ''l'auteur semble avoir opposé ce poème à celui de Racine''. .
