Title: The Old Man and the Sea
Description: London, Jonathan Cape, 1953. First printing of this edition. Paperback. 6th impression (2nd impression after the type was reset). Blue cloth boards stamped in brown on a light blue panel on the spine with decoative emblem in brown on the upper panel. A clean, unmarked and tightly bound copy in an unclipped dust jacket. The protected dust jacket is a little rubbed at the edges and has a small closed tear. The front pastedown endpaper has a small printed label from Galignani - Librairie francaise et etrangère, 224 rue de Rivoli, Paris. Laid in is in article from the Daily Mail dated 26 January 1954 detailing Hemingway's narrow escape from a plane crash in Africa and an article (in French) from Le Montagne dated 23 September 1972 discussing Hemingway's depressions and suicide attempts. Very Good/very good.
