Dutch language story about the experiences by Walter Gibson, one of the few survivors of the torpedoing of S.S. Roosenboom, a K.P.M. freighter carrying 500 refugees, amongst them 250 British troops. After a horendous journey by a small boat of some 1000 sea-miles, author reached the shores of Mentawei Island group West Coast Sumatra, wher he was captiured by the japanese military police Kenpeitai and transported to the notorius japanese P.O.W. camp at Gloegoer, Medan. Pocket-edition (as orig. publ.). Good to very good copy. (some minimal rubbing to corner of front wrapper).
