WITH the [8]pp. folio-sized register (stapled) and a black/white portrait of Johan Maurits van Nassau-Siegen, loosely inserted at very end. Catalogue with many contributions describing life and times of Johan Maurits Van Nassau-Siegen, 1604-1679, nicknamed De Braziliaan (the Brazilian), related to the Royal Dutch dynasty of Orange-Nassau, commissioned by the Dutch West India Company, W.I.C. as governor to the then dutch colony of Brazil, 1632-1644. Supplies i.a. important information on the West India Company, the attempt to colonize Brazil, &c., with as motto Qua Patet Orbis. Very fine copy, WITH the loosely inserted register and an extra portrait, which are seldomly found present. (neat signature of previous owner in upper right corner of hftitle).
