A very detailed and well-documented publication commemmorating the torpedooing, by H.M.S. Tradewind, of the S.S. Junijo Maru, a japanese freighter, on 18th September 1944 near Bencoolen, with some 2200 P.O.W. (600 Europeans, 10th Bat., and 1600 Ambonese and Menadonese) under command by Lt.Cmdr. R.N.R. Upton, and some 4000 Javanese coolies (Romusha), causing a great number of losses, and the aftermath (:transportation of surviving men to various camps at Pakan Baru Railroad, Sumatra). Includes a description of H.M.S. Tradewind, (ex P 329) in english on pp. 202/202, as supplied by british Naval Historical Branche Ministry of Defence, London. Literature on the subject is very hard to find. Very good copy. Scarce.
