Pat McCormick, who writes that the original title Northcott chose was "The Romance of St. Martins." Northcott was the new vicar of St. Martins when Rev. Sheppard, the old vicar, asked him to write a history of their church. As London grew St. Martins became trapped in its center, family houses were pulled down & replaced with large buildings & hotels. The congregation dwindled, but after Dick Sheppard arrived in 1914 everything changed & the church became popular once more. 109 pages. 3 black & white photographs. Beige cloth cover is near fine. Contents near fine but inscribed on f.f.e.p. "Love to Mother from Elsie 17/3/38." No d./w. 1937.
