"With pegg'd bat battered and worn, With ball as heavy as lead, A cricketer stood in uncricketing bags.." etc. Another is based on "The Lost Chord." .."Standing one day at the wicket, I was batting and ill at ease, And one ball had hit my fingers, Others had bruised my knees".. etc. etc. I think they're very good! 112 pages, with illustrations in b./w. by author, and a frontispiece by Sir Frank Lockwood. Some of the sketches look like W.G.Grace! Maroon cloth spine, and cream board cover are slightly worn on edges & corners, and slightly soiled otherwise very good. Contents near fine, no inscription, but foxed at beginning & end, and faintly foxed on a few pages, but binding is still tight. 19cm. x 14cm. 1898
