Quarto, about 10.25 inches (26 cm) tall, in illustrated white cloth. 389 pages plus an index of 25 pages, illustrated by 49 photographs, 14 drawings and 12 maps including 4 folding maps at rear. A very nicely produced unit history based on the diaries of a pair of brothers, the uncles of the author who served in the Army of the Cumberland. Both lived into the 20th century and the author new them well. The brothers were literate, good observers and had an interesting 3 years in this unit commanded by General William Jackson Palmer. They report on the battles of Antietam, Stone's River, Chattanooga and Chicamauga and several others. The book is clean, bright and sound but with a surface abrasion to the front free endpaper of about a quarter inch and a mild bump to the upper front tip. The jacket is bright and complete with light edge wear and minor soiling. Near Fine in Very Good+ Dustjacket.
