Spine with five raised bands, each with gilt piping. The compartments fully decorated and ruled in gilt. Green morocco title label, gilt. Decorative gilt border on boards. Marbled endpapers and page edges. Neat five line school prize inscription, from The Old College, Windermere, and dated 1916, to the front blank free endpaper. The binding isn't signed but is certainly the work of a master binder. A fine copy in a fine, highly decorative, tree calf binding.
