The spine with raised bands, each piped in gilt. Compartments double ruled, fully decorated and lettered in gilt. Decorative panels and ruled line borders on boards to boards with floral corner decorations. Board edges with gilt decoration. Gilt inner Dentelles. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. A beautiful copy. A neat inscription, dated 1859, on the front blank free endpaper gifting the book and loosely inserted is a hand written note showing that it was a wedding present and giving the full names from the inscription. A little rubbing to the edges but overall a beautiful and impressive binding in very good condition. Beautifully illustrated by some of the best illustrators of the Victorian period.
