Description: Macmillan and Co. London. 1894. FIRST BROCK EDITION, Large paper issue. One of only 110 copies issued. Large 8vo. (10.5 x 7.4 inches). One hundred fine line illustrations by Brock. Tissue guard to the frontis. Some minor offsetting to the blank endpapers otherwise a fine and clean copy throughout. In the original publishers burgundy cloth binding with printed paper label to the spine. The spine is a bit faded and there is some loss to one corner of the label, not affecting the lettering, but this is still a lovely copy of this scarce volume. With an attractive Art Nouveau bookplate of Christie Chetwynd Atkinson, decorated and illustrated with two women reading, by M.C. Fisher, dated 1902, on the front pastedown endpaper.
