Decorative Cloth, 8vo - over 7? - 9? tall. tidy copy, red cloth lightly rubbed to edges and corners, gilt embossed baby on a globe to upper board, gilt titled spine, backstrip heavily sunned losing all red pigment, original coloured eps, hinges tight, copperplate ink to head of "Note to Seventh Edition" is dated 1889 at "Manapori" but I cannot decipher the name, 385pp, folding hand coloured frontis + 14 plates (line diagrams), a tidy copy apart from the sunned spine, one of the early works of speculative British geology in a later edition (title page states Twenty-Fourth edition, being a reprint of the seventh edition). Very Good/No Jacket.
