This book, short-listed for the Alan Paton non-fiction award in 2003 was the subject of a libel claim from a former Rand Daily Mail journalist who had been identified as a rogue character in one of the book's chapters. The publishers settled out of court and the book was subsequently withdrawn from publication. Newspaper-clipping concerning this matter from the Sunday Times included with this copy.
