Title: "Sebastiane". 4 Original Bromide Prints.
Description: Cinegate / Megalovision 1976. 385mm x 310mm (15" x 12") landscape black and white glossy prints. VG+ condition. These were intended for advertising purposes at movie theatres showing the film "Sebastiane". This was a 1976 Latin-language British historical film directed by Derek Jarman and Paul Humfress. Written by Jarman, Humfress, and James Whaley, it portrays the events of the life of Saint Sebastian, including his iconic martyrdom by arrows. The film, which was aimed at a gay audience, was controversial for the homoeroticism portrayed between the soldiers and for having dialogue entirely in Latin - not to mention it being the first film to include full frontal male nudity in a film for public viewing in the UK.
