Manuel de Olim Perestrello (1854-1929) was a Portuguese commercial photographer based in Funchal, Madeira, in the late 1800s & early 1900s. This original print is a view looking down onto the harbour and town of Funchal, with vine trellises in the garden to the foreground. 'Madeira' is inscribed in pencil to rear. Little appears recorded on the life of this photographer, but his photographs generally show a keen eye for an interesting viewpoint and have historical significance showing the Madeira of now more than a century ago.
