(First published in the weekend edition of 'The Argus', Cape Town). The page border design and scraperboard illustrations are superb. The original Author intended the book as a tribute to the BMR and its human milestone marker graves , "Ghosts of men who worked and knew, The fever-swamp, the sickening jar, that came when life was rusted through, Upon the lonely B.M.R." (Cullen Gouldsbury).
