Spine dulled, mostly square corners with minor rubbing, front board very clean and most attractive. small split head of spine, rear hinge starting but still sound, one plate loose, hence overall in near VG condition. giant map in rear pocket is in excellent condition with no tears. The author was in charge of the 1898 to 1900 expedition to Marotseland which was supported by grants from the Royal Geographical Society, Sir John Ardagh of British Military Intelligence, and the British South Africa Chartered Company.
