Notocladius capicola, new genus and species, is very abundant and is able to feed on very small particles scraped off the substratum amd must play an important part in the food chain; Parakiefferiella biloba Freeman, here discussed in detail for the first time, is far less abundant and its gut is packed with diatom frustrules.
