The genus Norfolkia is revised and theree species are recognised: N. brachylepis (Schultz) (= N. springeri Clarke) which is widespread throughout the tropical Indo-west Pacific, N. squamiceps (McCulloch and Waite) from the southern Barrier Reef, Norfolk and Lord Howe islands and N. thomasi Whitley from the Barrier Reef and south-central Pacific.
