Three new species of Southern African Bembix, B. namibensis sp. nov., B. sinni sp. nov., B. zinni sp. and B. karooensis sp. nov. are described, B. junodi Arnold is sunk into synonymy with B. ulula Arnold, and biological notes are given for ten other species of Bembix. The nature of the prey of the genus Bembix with particular reference to Afrotropical species is reviewed and discussed.
