Printed wraps, stapled, 26pp. A4. illustrated photos, maps, charts, tables diagrams, etc. New unread copy. Evidence of prehistoric coastal exploitation at the Duiker Eiland farm was investigated during 1975 as part of a study of coastal settlement in the western Cape during the latter part of the Holocene. Other excavated sites in this region are Elands Bay Cave, Paternoster, and Stofbergsfontein. This report describes the material recovered from Duiker Island but does not attempt an overall synthesis of coastal settlement in the western Cape. Discussion is focussed on the diet of the site's inhabitants, the season at which occupation took place. and on the function and age of the stone features found in association with the shell midden.
