Contemporary sheep, VG. 4 volumes, xxxvi+65pp, [iv]+827pp, [iv]+848pp, [iv]+743pp, slight marginal worming to each volume & affecting only a few pp, occasional scorch mark & ink splash, but overall an attractive, solid set in good order with the text clear & bright. Hardback , no dustjacket. ¶ A later edition of Burn's Justice, which was first published in 1755. It was for many years the standard authority on the law relating to justices of the peace & was reprinted many times.
