Hardback , no dustjacket. ¶ The most ambitious of the Conduct books written for the advancement of female education by the English religious writer and philanthropist Hannah More [ 1745 - 1833 ]. It is a suggested course of study for Princess Charlotte Augusta [ 1796 - 1817 ], who More and other evangelical writers saw as the saviour of Britain given that her father & grandfather were George IV & George III respectively. In the book she outlines a curriculum suitable for a future monarch - rich in classical and English history, Christian theology, and the nature of royal duties.
