Title: The Cathedrals And Churches Of Belgium
Description: T Werner Laurie, 1928, 2nd edition, revised. Cloth glit, VG. xvi+301pp, endpaper map, colour frontis & 3 colour plates after paintings by A Forestier, 16 b/w plates, index, spine darkened, preliminary pages ( up to the preface ) & the fore edges foxed, corners bumped, a fair copy. A previous owner has pasted another colour view by Forestier to the first blank - the view is of Bruges. Hardback , no dustjacket. ¶ A good general survey of the Cathedrals & major Churches of Belgium. The book was however originally written by Bumpus in 1908, so many of the buildings described were completely destroyed ( and subsequently rebuilt ) during the First World War.
