An interesting account which details Stephen's unconventional introduction to mountaineering - in 1989 she was a reporter who was asked to cover an Everest expedition as far as base camp. Whilst there, with borrowed equipment she achieved a record height on Everest for a woman - returning just 4 years later to go for the summit.
