Paperback , no dustjacket. ¶ First volume in the author's planned History of Lebanon from 1590 onwards. Only 2 volumes were ever completed. This volume covers the reign of Emir Fakhr-al-Din Beg ibn Maan. His popularity & growing power meant he fell foul of the Ottoman rulers of the region & he was executed in 1630 in Istanbul.
