Hardback , no dustjacket. ¶ Bibliography of a collection formed in the early late 19th & 20th century. It is particulary stong with regard to Shakespeare. White [ 1843 - 1827 ] was an investment banker who started collecting books in 1885. Upon his death the books were appraised & catalogued at $850,000. The Shakespeare quartos went to Harvard, the Blake items were retained by his family [ not in this catalogue ] and the rest was sold.
