The editor of Dent's Modern Language Series Walter Ripman (Rippmann), a dynamic and energetic figure wrote and edited much on language teaching, speech and spelling. He was a major proponent of the use of phonetics. Passy's French reader was published in Britain a few years later by London University Press. Hardback.
