She is now known for her role in rescuing refugees just before and during World War II. In December 1938, Warriner started her work in Prague as a British Committee for Refugees from Czechoslovakia representative. She was previously best known as a specialist and authority on peasant farming. writing both before and after WWII on rural and agrarian problems in Eastern Europe. She spent a year in Yugoslavia in the 1930s working for U.N.N.R.A. The present book concerns the social and economic revolution as experienced in post-war Eastern Europe. Hardback.
