Title: Lives of Girls & Women. (INSCRIBED Presentation Copy)
Description: Toronto, McGraw-Hill Ryerson, 1971. 1st. Hardcover. 0070929327. Signed by Author(s). First printing, Canadian edition (true first). 8vo, cream cloth, dustjacket. Fine text: very fresh and tight, no owner's name, faintest hint of a bump to the bottom tip of the front board, slight trace of rubbing to fragile boards. Small bookplate of the inscribee on the ffep. The inscribee, Fletcher Markle, well-known Canadian broadcaster of the 60s and 70s, interviewed many Canadian authors. We suspect that the author may have presented this copy to him when being interviewed. Dj is not clipped, very fresh with very light wear to extremities, no tears. A superb copy, the nicest we've seen. The inscription reads: "For Fletcher Markle best wishes Alice Munro". Signed copies of Ms Munro's earlier work are becoming difficult to find. This is her second book and the only novel by the Nobel Prize winner. Fine/Dust Jacket Included.
