Authors Presentation Copy; Volume 1 The County of Surrey, published in 1792, xii + 393pp + 8pp index, map and 26 plates [some coloured] and 2 folding tables, Volume 2 County of Middlesex part 1, published in 1795, 598pp + 46pp indexes, map and 15 plates, Volume 3 Middlesex part 2, published in 1795, 706pp, 12 plates, Volume 4 Counties of Herts, Essex & Kent published 1796, 724pp + errata page + book advert page, map and 12 other plates, Volume 5 published in 1811 Supplement to the First Edition of The historical Account of the Environs of London x + 493pp, 9 plates [some coloured] . All volumes uniformly bound in red leather spines, back spine label, gilt lines and lettering. Beige cloth. New endpapers which have the bookplate of the Institution of Surveyors on and purchased for the library in 1869. Volume one has name James Dalloway Given by Author 1796 in same hand and also the name EM Scott in a different early hand. James Dallaway was curate at Rodmarton in Gloucestershire to Rev Samuel Lyson the Author's father. A lovely set with interesting associations; Quarto. Very Good .
