Title: Memoirs of Fanny Hill - a New and Genuine Edition from the Original Text (London, 1849). States Published in Paris in 1888 But Probably There in the 1920's.
Description: Isidore Liseux, 1920. Soft Cover. At first sight a late Victorian edition of this classic of erotica dated 1888 - apparently unabridged and published in Paris. In an apparently original generic d/w of Les Collections Hachette. 317p. Bound in grey-blue soft original card covers. This would seem to be the 1920's reprint o the Liseux Edition with title page in b/w. The book is slightly toned toward the paper edges bit is without marks or signatures. There is a slight slant but the covers are clean with an intact spine, though a little corner wear and some ruffling of the lower edge of the front card cover with short blind tears. There are once folded corners to page 6. The d/w (which is missing its front inner flap and is slightly shorter than the book ) is titled Les Collections Hachette pour la Jeunesse is either unrelated to the book or is the twenties equivalent of sent in a plain brown wrapper! Matching wear on the books covers and the d/w suggest they have been together for a long time. See scans and email for more. . Near Very Good
