Description: William Blackwood and Sons, 1916. Hardcover. 154p Plates 2 folding genealogical tables. The story of John Blaw who apparently visited France on a secret mission to Prince Charles Edward in Paris. This is explained in two long letters from Prince Charles to his father, the Chevalier, dated 7th and 14th March, 1745. He was imprisoned in London on his return where he remained throughout the campaign. The second part of the book offers a very detailed account of Blaws's later history when he stabbed a local farmer. There is much detail of his jury trial, verdict of guilty and execution. The book is clean and unmarked but with toned endpapers and one corner is knocked. See scans. . Very Good
