The house was plundered by the troops of Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1745. (Prince Charles Edward Stuart). The 3rd Lord Hamilton sold the house and estate about 1953 and it is now split-up into private apartments. No less than three of Queen Victoria's children visited this place in the 19th century. 240p two plates. The book is in VG condition - all original with a gift inscription on the fep.
