It consists of 5 reports on different areas of the West Coast Fisheries undertaken by Leslie D.Fisher (Fishery Board for Scotland) and W.M. Ramsay (Department of Agriculture for Scotland). 1) Report on position of Inshore Fisheries in Skye.15p+26p appendix Dec.1933. 2) Note of Tour of Lewis and Harris 14p+appendix Mar 1934. 3) Note of a Tour of Barra and the Uists 15p + 28p apppendix Apr 1934. 4) Note of a Tour of the North West Mainland Coast 13p+ extensive appendices Jun 1936. 5) Report on the Position of Inshore Fisheries on North West Mainland Coast and in Outer Islands 29p Jul. 1934. The two investigators clearly travelled over several months to gather the information for the Report. The appendices include much detail with charts and tables and paragraphs of evidence from local representatives - councillors, fish merchants, fishermen, a fish hawker, a postmaster, fish salesman and etc. fishing methods, lobster ponds .A rare source of historical information from the West of Scotland Coastal fisheries. The cloth boards are unmarked with gilt titling on the spine. There is some minor wear to the first report - sustained before binding. Uncommon if not unique. See scans. . Very Good
