A Classic of Alpine exploration (Neate 276). Bound in half leather with marbled boards and gilt titling on spine. The leather spine is deteriorating and the corners are rubbed. Gutters loosening. A private library bookplate on front pastedown (Frederick B, Wood, Hiighfields, Chew Magna, Somerset). The plates are all bright and tissue guarded and are clean -though two have a little marginal browning. The text block is evenly toned but is clean and without significant marks or signatures.
