An intelligent and very amusing work, designed as a supplement to Pennant's Scottish Tour (Lowndes). Much on North-East Scotland -Fife & Aberdeenshire; also Caithness, & Sutherland. Plates of the Bullers of Buchan (3), Forres Pillar, Elgin Cathedral, Beaulieu Abbey, Caithness, Oldwick Castle and Fort George. There is a long separately indexed section about Torfeus (p121-173) at the end Probably contemporary full calf with raised bands and red title label on spine. A very attractive copy which is clean, tight and without foxing, marks or signatures. Closed tear easily repairable on page 1 and appropriate wear to corners. See scans . Fine
