Hardcover. vii (1) 432p + 8p index; the second annual volume (of three) published initially by Thomas Garnett - (1766-1802), chemist and physician, M.D. at the University of Edinburgh. He wrote contributions to the third Encyclopaedia Britannica. Became professor of natural philosophy Anderson's Institution in Glasgow. From here he made his tour of the north-west of Scotland described in his well-known Observations on a Tour (1800); he later became the first professor of natural philosophy and chemistry at the Royal Institution where he was a famed lecture demonstrator. He did not live to see this , the second of the three annual volumes published under this title. Clean, tight in original blue grey boards with spine label (torn with loss). Corners worn as is spine but generally very cvlean and collectible. No other marks or signatures and partially uncut. Scans available on request. . Very Good
