It takes place in Kerouac's hometown of Lowell, Massachusetts. In the text, Kerouac mixes his childhood memories with his youthful fantasies. The central fanasy centers on the mythical Great World Snake, a villainous, slumbering creature who is predicted to decour the whole world upon its awakening. Stream of consciousness writing style o spontaneous prose. Photo enclosed with Kerouac's books spread on the grass next to flower, perhaps his grave site.
