The settlement grew vey slowly until the mid-1850s when much of the area that now forms the central small lots and sold. German immigrants were attracted to this German speaking settlement they brought wih them new tehnological skills, new indutries and businesses, churches and schools were established. Signed on the title page by the three authors.
