In 1854 Samuel Dennis Warren, a Boston merchant. of paper and paper making materials, purchased the Day and Lyon mill at Congin Falls for $28,000. In 1877, 7 of its wood pulp machines were turning out 16 tons of paper per day. The mill's legendary smokestack is a Westbrook landmark. Library markings.
