Title: Feathers in the Wind: the mountain and the migration.
Description: np, np, nd. G PB. Founded in 1934 HMSA is a non-profit corporation for conserving and protecting wildlife and educating the public in wildlife. This two thousand acre preserve was recently designated a Registered Natural Landmark. In 1793 Jacob Gerhardt moved into the little stone cottage along a well-established Indian trail over the mountain. In 1755 he had watched the Leni-Lenape Indians massacre his mother, father, brothers, and sisters in their sall cabin in the isolated area now known as Eckville. It sits on the base of Hawk Mountain which rides the crest of Kittatinny Ridge, from the Delaware River on the east to the Susquehanna River on the west. No one knows for sure when the first hunter appeared on the hill but it brought on a destruction that would persist for many years. Owner name, edge wear.
