Laid in newspaper clipping. from the NY Herald Tribune Weekly Book Review of Oct. 20, 1946, titled "A Generation Nourished on H.G. Wells: stimulated and enlightened by the drug of his zeal and wit" after Wells' death, illustrated with caricatures by Low from "Lions and Lambs" and one by Max Beerbohm. Sinclair Lewis writes in his introduction that there was no greater novelist living than Wells and talks being enamoured with a dark eyed lady and visiting her but being far more entraced with Mr. Polly than his date. Yellow binding, red lettering and pictorial, spine tanned, few tanning spots on cover, owner name ft endpaper.
