Brant (Thayendanegea meaning two sticks of wood bound together, denoting strength) is called by some a half-breed, by others a Shawanese by parentage & only a Mohawk by adoption. Some historians have called him the son of Sir William Johnson while others say he is of Mohawk blood. Green binding, gilt lettering, top edge gilt.
