Description: London: Longman & Rees [or] Richard Phillips, 1801 - 1805. A nine volume set in matching bindings, all books 8vo (21cm by 13cm). The set comprises Gleanings in Wales (3 volumes), the sixth edition from 1802; lxxii, 373pp; xv, 476pp; xii, 411pp. Gleanings in England (3 volumes), the first volume is a second edition from 1801, the second volume is a first edition from 1801, the thrid volume is a first edition from 1803 - xxxii, 579pp; xxv, 624pp; lxxi, 675pp. Harvest-Home (3 volumes), first edition 1805 - xxviii, 560pp; [vi], 534pp; [xvi], 552pp. There is a frontispiece engraving of the author in volume 1 of Harvest-Home. Matching bindings of contemporary full speckled calf, gilt-tooled spines, black title label reading "Pratt's Gleanings" to each volume, red title label with volume number (1-9) to most volumes (the red labels for vols 1, 4 and 5 are missing). Some minor chafing to heads and feet of spines, some light wear to joints, endpapers foxed in most volumes, ownership signature to the flyleaf of most volumes, some minor spotting of contents, but generally this is a good to very good set overall.
