Description: Londres [London]: Sampson Low, Marston, Low & Searle [& Paris: librairie de A Eudes], 1882. First edition, bound in two hardback volumes. Folio (43cm x 37cm), 291 plates. Attractively bound in full red morocco, gilt tltling and tooling to the spines, gilt titling to the front boards, marbled endpapers. This set was formerly in the Bibliotheque Guille-Alles in Guernsey, with their bookplate to the front free endpaper of each volume, and a stamp to the verso of the title page. There is some scuffing of the spines, and occasional spotting of the plates, but this set is nonetheless in good plus condition overall. This is the full edition, bound in two thick folio volumes; this book was also published in a cut-down version containing only 100 plates. The only text in these books is the title pages; one in each volume.
