Folio (38cm by 28cm), [iii], 8pp; [iii], 8pp. 24 etched plates (12 in each of the first and the second series). Later binding of black cloth, red morocco title label to the spine with gilt titling. The edges of the spien are frayed (and repaired), the boards are rubbed, and there is some minor foxing to a few of the plates. The contents are generally clean and tightly bound, and this copy is just about in good condition overall. The first series is taken from sketches made in Belgium, Germany and France; the second series (published after the artist's death) is taken from sketches in Belgium and France only.
