Description: London: Longmans, Green and co, 1901. First edition, complete in two hardback volumes (text and plates). Folio (43cm by 35cm), [v], 115pp; viii, 20pp plates, with a descriptive page of text accompanying each plate. Original blue cloth spine (volume 1), black cloth spine (volume 2), printed grey boards, gilt titling to the spines, top edges gilt. Boards a little rubbed and scuffed, endpapers browned, some scattered foxing of the preliminary pages. Overall, this set is in good plus condition. This set formerly belonged to Ramsgate Abbey, with their bookplate to the front pastedown of each volume.
